Often, Shane Pennington’s subjects are skewed metaphorically and in size, allowing the viewer to contemplate their own daily grinds from a different perspective. Using many mediums and textures from sculpture to digital video, he enlightens us on our own humanity and the world around us.
Shane Pennington is an award winning Dallas contemporary artist currently living and working in the Cedars. In 2010, Shane was selected to be part of the groundbreaking SculptCAD Rapid Artists Project, in which his artwork was exhibited in Anaheim, California and at the One Arts Plaza in Dallas, Texas. He has also completed installations in Toronto, Sydney, Montana, and New York this year. In addition, Shane helped spearhead the Aurora 2010: Light, Video, and Sound Art Event at Dallas Heritage Village. It is Shane’s dream to see the event grow into an annual city wide, all-night urban festival event in the future!
Shane exhibits his works internationally and is a big support for our local Charities, including the National MS Society, The Dallas Contemporary Wish!, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, AIDS Interfaith, Art to the Rescue, and Chase’s Place School. You can currently view his works at Parigi, Chase Tower in the Arts District, or at his Cedars working studio. Recent showings include the HCG Gallery in Dallas, TractorBeam in Dallas, Fresh Faces 2X2, and the Texas Sculpture Association Art Exhibit.
